He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Irene Laires (Ferreira); his parents, Antonio Laires and Rosalia Laires (Almeida); and his siblings, Violeta Loureiro, Jose Pina Laires and Celio Laires.

He is survived by: his children, Rosalia F. Videira (Helder) of Cumberland and Jose P. Laires of Cumberland; his grandchildren, Jessica Johnson and Michael Videira; his great grandchildren, Midas, Melayna, Mateo, Moses, Addilyn, Sophia and Gavin; and his siblings, Alvira Almeida, Anselmo Laires and Noemia Correia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or Hope Hospice.
