He was predeceased by: his wife Ethel S. Whitman. He is survived by: his daughter Shelley L. Hoffinger (Rabbit K. Hoffinger); his grandsons, Rabbit Isaiah Hoffinger and Elias Hillel Hoffinger; his son Jeffrey L. Whitman; and his nieces, Marilee, Aleta, Barbara and Lila.
