He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Schubert and Goidice. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ann Schwimer; his children, Ronald, Patrick, James and Maria; his grandchildren, Emily, Ellie, Rachael and Grady; and his stepchildren, Caitlyn and Michael.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the chemistry departments of Saint Peter's University and Fordham University, St. Labre Indian School and Smile Train.
