With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan E. (DesRoches) Major (Cranston, Rhode Island), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 26, 2024 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde DesRoches and Emily DesRoches (Monaghan); and her brother Robert DesRoches of Florida. She is survived by: her sisters, Carol DesRoches (Vanwuyckhuyse) of Clearwater and Sandra DesRoches (Perrino) of Elon; and her children, Kenneth Major (Darlene) of Charlestown, Michael Major (Sally) of Peace Dale, Susan Martin (David) of Charlestown and Bruce Major (Milly) of Myrtle Beach. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Nardolillo Funeral Home (1278 Park Ave, Cranston, RI 02910). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at the Highland Memorial Park (1 Rhode Island Ave, Johnston, RI 02919).
