He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip L. Atwood and Alice Atwood (Blackinton); and also Beth Atwood. He is survived by: his wife Melody A. Atwood (Mello); his children, Lana B. Fontaine of West Warwick and Wayne L. Atwood Jr. (Mina) of Warwick; his stepchildren, Katie M. Hargraves (Matthew Sojka) of Londonderry, NH and Kara A. Hargraves (Howard Brennan) of East Providence; and his grandchildren, Brandon A. Fontaine, Grace A. Atwood, Chloe E. Atwood, Charlotte S. Sojka and Noah M. Sojka.
Regretfully, due to the Pandemic, Services with military honors and interment at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter will be private for the family.
