It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma R. Fernandes of Coventry, Rhode Island, born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, who passed away on March 6, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband John G. Fernandes; her parents, Napoleon Rose and Ruth Rose (Montiero); and her siblings, Eugene Montiero, Reginald Montiero and Allie Almeida.
She is survived by: her daughter Tammy F. Donovan; her grandchild Kenzel J. Donovan of San Diego, California.; and her siblings, Margaret Fonseca of New Bedford, MA and Bobby Montiero of Rhode Island.
