He was predeceased by: his wife Joann Desjarlais (Fisher); his parents, Henry Desjarlais and Marie Desjarlais (Petit); and his sibling Claire Hynes. He is survived by: his children, Richard D. "Ricky" Desjarlais (Amanda Cekala) of West Warwick, Stacy A. Bates (Christopher) of West Warwick and Jackie M. Desjarlais (Charles Carpenter) of Coventry; his grandchildren, Deanna, Brendon, Morgan, Alexis, Aleesa and T. J.; his great grandchild Kensley; and his siblings, Donna Desjarlais, Theresa McCoy, Donald Desjarlais, Doris Campoiano and Joseph Dejarlais.
