He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Spuerkel and Marceline Spuerkel (DeBeaulieu); and his brother Peter Spuerkel. He is survived by: his close friend Chloe; his daughters, Mary Richard (Stephen) of West Greenwich, RI, Judith Dykstra of Port St, Karen Silva (John) of Port St and Cynthia Soares (Carl) of North Kingstown, RI; his grandchildren, Amy, Sarah Richard, Erin, Emily Dykstra, Ethan Silva, Bridget and Kay Soares; his sister Marceline Lyons-Nelson (Eric Nelson); his nephews, Michael Lyons and Danny Lyons (Jan Wassmer); and his niece Jennifer Lyons Holland.
