He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl F. C. and Nora A. Farnum (Tucker); and his brother Cyrus F. Farnum. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth J. Farnum (Levesque); his children, Cynthia L. Chace of Chepachet, Donna K. Codman of Naples, Richard E. Farnum of Fort Mill, Robert A. Farnum of Foster and Mark A. Farnum of Chepachet; and his siblings, William E. Farnum of Chepachet and Edith Aldrich of Harmony. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
