He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Cavar (Lux); his parents, Joseph M. Cavar and Ida Cavar (Janowski); and his siblings, Thomas Cavar and Kathleen Cavar.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Godbout (Greg), Joseph R. Cavar (Susan) of Milford, Carolee Sumislaski (Fran) of Ellington and Andrew Cavar (Agata) of Vernon; his grandchildren, Maggie Picone (Chris) of Canton, Jack Godbout of Tolland, Nathan Sumislaski of Ellington, Joshua Sumislaski of Ellington, Cricket Cavar of Vernon, Drew Cavar of Vernon and Alex Cavar of Vernon; and his great grandchildren, Vivian and Ryan.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
