He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Antonio Mateo and Hortencia Feliz; and his sisters, Maria Mateo Feliz, Luz Minerva Mateo Feliz and Maria Altagracia Mateo Feliz.
He is survived by: his children, Luis B. Mateo and Gloria Feliz Figueroa of Puerto Rico. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
