He was predeceased by: his parents, Adelino A. Goncalves and Ana Rosa Goncalves (Pires); and his brother John Goncalves. He is survived by: his wife Joy M. Gonsalves (Birch); his children, Maria Gonsalves-Schimpf (Peter) of Lafayette, CO, Joseph A. Gonsalves (Maria) of Central Falls and Amanda S. Brown; his friend John Brown of Coventry; his siblings, Carmelinda Amaro of Portugal, Antonio Gonsalves of Cumberland, Maria Silveira of Cumberland, Manuel Goncalves of North Providence, Maria Idalina "Lina" Cabral of Cumberland and Adelino Goncalves of Cumberland; and his grandchildren, Benjamin Joseph Brown, Kaliyah, Mateo and Judah Schimpf. He is also survived by several nieces/nephews and great-nieces/nephews.
