It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas S. DeMerchant of Carolina, Rhode Island, born in Providence, Rhode Island, who passed away on March 1, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Mary F. DeMerchant (Burrows); his parents, Oscar L. DeMerchant and Ethel DeMerchant (Kee); and his brothers, Oscar, John and Murray DeMerchant.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lorna Caulfield (Brian) of Ashaway, RI and Julie DeMerchant; his grandchildren, Amy, John, Lindsey, Matthew, Kyle and Emily; his sister Joyce Davies of Boulder, CO; his sister-in-law Carol DeMerchant of Carolina, RI.; and his close friends, Nugget and Newt. He is also survived by his six great grandchildren.
