He was predeceased by: his wife Irene G. Head (Lucier); and his parents, Russell Head and Mary Head (Leetch). He is survived by: his daughters, Maribeth Hurst (Thomas) and Amy Borden; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Hurst (Nicole), Christopher Hurst and Megan Lemay (Zachary); his great grandchildren, Mackenzie Hurst, Jacob Hurst, Josephine Hurst, Lilian Lemay and Maci Lemay; and his sisters, Ann McGivney and Mary Viera. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
