He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Jr. Tavares and Edveis Tavares (Mello); his son Peter Tavares; and his sister Dorothy Texeira. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth A. Tavares (Bernard); his daughter Aimee Tavares; his son-in-law Christopher Langford; his grandchildren, Mason Langford of Virginia, Jennifer Medeiros of Tiverton and Pamela Medeiros of Somerset; his great grandchildren, Celina and Adelynn Medeiros; and his brother John Tavares.
