He was predeceased by : his wife Irene Ribeiro (Travassos); his parents, Francisco Ribeiro and Rosa Ascencão Ribeiro (Couto); and his brother Antonio Couto-Ribeiro. He is survived by : his children, Maria Jose Travassos-Ribeiro of Bristol, Gil Travassos-Ribeiro of Bristol, Manuel Antonio Travassos-Ribeiro of Florida and Daniel Travassos-Ribeiro of Bristol; his grandchildren Joshua Ribeiro, Erica Ribeiro, and Nicole Perch (Ribeiro) and her husband William Perch; his seven great grand children; his siblings Norberto Couto-Ribeiro of Bristol, Maria Ana Medeiros of Bristol, Francisco Couto-Ribeiro of Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Azores, Anjos Chaves of Bristol and Almorinda Calouro of Bristol.
