He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mattes and Anna Mattes (Vitullo). He is survived by: his wife Nancy (Woodhead); his children, John N. Mattes (Lisa) of Warren and Nicole (Matthew Bussiere) of North Attleboro, MA.; and his grandchildren, Logan, Abraham, Emily and Jacob.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jul Funeral Service (8 Schoolhouse Rd, Warren, RI 02885). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Alexander Church (221 Main St, Warren, RI 02885).
In lieu of flowers donations in John's honor may be made to St. Jude's or Tunnel to Towers.
