He was predeceased by: his parents, Anibal Costa Afonso and Amelia Goncalves Reis; and his siblings, Maria Amelia Monte, Anibal Costa and Clementina Costa.
He is survived by: his spouse Conceicao Costa (Silva); his children, Gilberto S. Costa of Bristol, RI and Graca S. Costa-Hanson of North Reading, MA; his grandchildren, Anibal Costa, Oscar Costa, Grant Hanson, Shane Hanson, Olivia Hanson and Brooke Hanson; and his sibling Idalina Eduardo (Jose).
