He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Simoes (Raposa) and John Simoes; his wife Joyce (Squatrito); his great grandchild William Higgins; and his siblings, John Simoes, Joseph Simoes and Maria Da Luz Simoes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Anne Marie Higgins (Michael) and Patricia A. Pires (David); his grandchildren, Matthew D. Pires, Brendan M. Higgins (Meghan), Brianna M. Long (Kyle), Mitchell R. Higgins and Ryan D. Pires; and his great grandchildren, Jack and Eloise Higgins. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sansone Funeral Home (192 Wood St, Bristol, RI 02809). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (141 State St, Bristol, RI 02809).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church or School.
