He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Spiegel Greifer; his parents, Fred Greifer and Pauline Greifer (Brookner); and his siblings, Leah Abrams and Richard Greifer.

He is survived by: his children, Lauren Johnson (George) of Virginia, Jason Greifer (Brenda) of Oregon and Karyn Giuliani (Louis) of Massachusetts; and his sister Yvette Kahn. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
