She was predeceased by: her husband Gordon E. Smith; her parents, James J. Casey and Evelyn M. Casey (Maines); and her brother Michael J. Casey. She is survived by: her children, Gordon J. Smith of Moultonborough, NH, Laura J. Hinchey of Concord, NH, Steven E. Smith (Dorothy) of Rumford, RI, Mark T. Smith (Tracy) of South Portland, ME and Kathleen J. Stauffer (Matthew) of Fort Mill, SC.; and her sisters, Anne Gillmore of Ashaway, Jean Clark of Enfield, CT, Margaret "Peg" Cherenzia of Westerly and Janet Burbine of Ashaway. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
