He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert A. Bittner, Sr. and Gretchen Brooks Bittner; his brother David "Tuck" Bittner; his wife Constance; and his granddaughter Elizabeth Schnell (Rod).
He is survived by: his siblings, William Bittner, Sr. and Leslie Blystone; his children, David Bittner (Jill) of New Sewickley Twp and Veronica Giel Wright (Raymond) of Harmony; his grandchildren, Virginia Milne (Colin), Emily Duchow (Paul) and Jonathan Bittner (Kaitlyn); and his great grandchildren, Jack, Violet Milne and Ruby Duchow.
