She was predeceased by: her parents, George Nesbitt and Elizabeth Nesbitt; her husband John D. Burkett; and her brothers, Ray Nesbitt, Irwin "Dutch" Nesbitt, Howard "Fritz" Nesbitt and Roy "Pete" Nesbitt.

She is survived by: her children, John D. Burkett, Jr. of Bayou Vista, LA, Judy Hannas (Alan) of Mercer and Janet LaRocca (Greg) of Ellwood City; her grandchildren, Melissa Simmerman, Jason Hannas (Karen), Ryan Hannas (Erin), Rachel and Liz LaRocca; her great grandchildren, Brooke, Savanna, Benjamin Simmerman, Jacob, Autumn, Joshua, Jonathan, Ashley, Andrew, Alexis and Abigail Hannas; and her great great grandchild Bella.
