He is survived by: his parent Anna Venick Shay; his wife Ardis; his children, James (Kimberly) of Acme and Tammy of Hecla; his grandchildren, Erin, Ashley, Joshua, Jordan and Michaela; and his brother Thomas R. (Beverly) of Atlanta. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
