It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Duckett (Youngstown, Pennsylvania), born in Roanoke, Virginia, who passed away on May 23, 2019, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ossie Bernard and Ethel Nimmo Duckett; her children, Eileen Batchelor (George) of Youngstown, Addie Crawley (James) of Jacksonville, Fla., Randy Duckett (Renita Henderson) of Niles, Daphne Rebecca Duckett of Youngstown, Carolyn Brown (William Dennis) of Girard, Laraine Poole of Youngstown and Calvin Poindexter of Portland, Ore.; her siblings, Anita D. Wilson of Roanoke, Patricia Baker (Fred) of Roanoke, Ethel Lowan Duckett of Roanoke, Donna Williams (Ronald) of Salem, James Richard Duckett (Janet) of Virginia Beach, Harold Duckett of Roanoke and Reginald L. Duckett of Roanoke; her adoptive daughter Sandra Cash; her goddaughter Monica Cobbin; her stepchildren, Iris Pippen and James Jones IIII; her former wife Ruth Duckett; her wife Barbara Duckett; and her son James Clinton Poindexter. She was also cherished by 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
