He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Johnson and Emma Alexander-McClendon; his brother Robert McClendon Sr.; and his children, William McClendon, Jerome Tellington, Kollie L. McClendon, Felicia A. Underwood and Annette Tellington.
He is survived by: his brother Daryl McClendon; and his children, Charlene L. Hooten of Youngstown, Joseph D. McClendon Sr. (Floretta) of Youngstown, Joseph "Ray" McClendon of Youngstown, Tanisha Drayton (Tyrone) of Youngstown and Tosha McClendon (Jimmie) of Youngstown. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and dear friends.
