It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ida Mae Tharpe of Youngstown, Pennsylvania, born in Girard, Ohio, who passed away on January 4, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Lucy Thorpe Sr. (Southerland); her husband Thad Tharpe Jr.; her daughter Dionne P. Eldridge; her grandchildren, Duane Eldridge, Ben Tharpe and Tasheda Duck; her father James Thorpe; and her siblings, Mary Grace and James Thorpe Jr..
She is survived by: her sons, Philip L. Tharpe (Esther) and Thad Tharpe; and her sisters, Nellie Beatrice Harris of Youngstown, Ruby Toney (Lee Vaughn) of Youngstown and Delores Simmons (James) of Youngstown. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
