He was predeceased by: his parents, J. B. Dawson and Effie G. Ramsey Dawson; his siblings, Katie Caige of Youngstown, Roberta Thompkins of Youngstown, Beverly Owens of Youngstown and Delores Dawson of Youngstown; and his grandchildren, Tiara Whatley and Elyie Dawson.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce A. Dawson; his children, Randi Bebbs of Worthington, Kenneth Whatley Sr. (Sonia) of Gahanna, Kimberly Dawson, David Keith Dawson of Alexandria, VA, Kathy Ramos, Kirk Dawson and Danielle Dawson; and his grandchild Tia Underwood of Delaware. He is also survived by great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
