He was predeceased by: his wife Helen W. Wambaugh; his parents, Warren B. Wambaugh and Helen K. Wambaugh; his sister Deborah J. Grim; and his great grandchild Joel Wambaugh.

He is survived by: his children, Julie Wambaugh (David Funkhouser), John Wambaugh (Jeanne Wambaugh) and James Wambaugh (Tammy Wambaugh); his grandchildren, Erika Lutkins, Emily Wambaugh, Kevin Funkhouser, Adam Wambaugh, Alyssa Glosser and Andrew Wambaugh; and his great grandchildren, Riley, Rohan, Elliot, Tanner, Blair, Bryce, Brookes and Presley.
