With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter L. Matthews (York, Pennsylvania), born in Codorus, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 4, 2021 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Marian M. Matthews (Sipe); his parents, Walter E. Matthews and Elsie Mae Matthews (Myers); his brothers, Norman and Carroll Matthews; and his nephew Todd Baer.

He is survived by: his daughter Julie Mae Matthews-Salvo (Frank) of York; his granddaughters, Irene Zerva and Renee Pasqua Salvo; his sister Shirley Ann Baer of New Freedom; and his nieces and nephews, Norma Jean "Jeannie" Mahone, Pamela Jo Mitzel, Denise Baer, Dianna Miller, Timothy Baer and Cameron Matthews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to Christ Lutheran Church, 105 S. Main St., Shrewsbury, PA 17361.
