He was predeceased by: his father Donald McCowen; and his grandmother Florence Gunthenberger. He is survived by: his wife Linda McCowen (Sponseller); his son Joshua McCowen (Tiara) of Gettysburg; his stepson Charles Messinger of Hanover; his grandchildren, Zack Messinger, Kelsey Messinger, Madylyn McCowen and Cole McCowen; his great grandchildren, Carter and Oliver Dalton; his mother Joyce McCowen of Cape Coral, Florida; and his siblings, Todd McCowen (Karen) of Cape Coral, Florida and Diane Burris of Cape Coral, Florida. He is also survived by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murphy-Beck Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. (501 Ridge Ave, McSherrystown, PA 17344). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Life Celebration Service.
