He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine Agnes Helder (Spyker); his parents, Perry Helder and Lillian Helder (Frey); and his children, Lonnie Eugene Helder and Linda Runkle.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Staub, Lori Shermeyer, Robin Lehr, Lisa Deardorff and Terry Helder; and his sister Mary Groupe. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
