He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda Garretson; his parents, Jessie (Barrett) and Peter J. Garretson, Sr.; and his grandmother Jessie W. Barrett. He is survived by: his close friend Michelle Koczynski; his children, Peter J. Garretson III (Crystal) of Texas and Melissa Ingram (Tom) of Mississippi; his stepchildren, John Crist (Stephanie) and Lori Leister (Scott); his grandchildren, CJ, Jacy, Brianna and Christina; his stepgrandchildren, Nicholas, Eryn, Benjamin, Brenna and Samuel; and his brother Chris Garretson.
