He was predeceased by: his wife Rose M. Smith (Downes); and his son Charles A. Smith. He is survived by: his children, Thomas Smith (Michelle) of Red Lion and Lisa Williams (Matt) of Gainesville, GA; and his granddaughter Caroline Smith.
