He was predeceased by: his parents, James Collins and Florence Collins (Scott); and his grandson Terry L. Hampton, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Betty Collins (Jefferson); his children, Nicole Byrd-Christian (Henry) of Absecon, NJ, Latanya Byrd of Atlantic City, NJ, Shenise Byrd-Peacock (Reginald) of Columbia, MD, Carolean Byrd-Leggette (Darrell) of Pleasantville, NJ, Capri Williams of Camden, NJ, Matrina McCullough (Laquan) of Hampton, VA, John H. Byrd of Atlantic City, NJ and Ronald Byrd of Pleasantville, NJ; his stepchildren, Letia Johnson, Robert Jefferson, Tracey Capper, Zelda Wilcher, Kelvin Jefferson and Louise Jones; his siblings, Florence Smith of Delaware, Francis Talley of Ohio, Elizabethann White (Don) of Texas, Pearl Brooks of Pleasantville, NJ, James Collins (Phyllis) and Daniel Collins (Brenda); and his cousin Deborah Brooks of Atlantic City, NJ. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
