He was predeceased by: his wife Linda S. Gerber (Stein); and his parents, William A. Gerber and Virgie A. Gerber (Gross). He is survived by: his son Erik T. Gerber of York; his granddaughter Kendal R. Gerber; and his siblings, William A. Gerber, Jr. (Elizabeth), Dale H. Gerber (Jennifer), John L. Gerber (Claudia), Phyllis J. Wolgamuth and Ruth E. Miller (Milo).

“We’re sorry to hear of Jims passing. We live behind Jim and would talk quite often usually about our yards and how to improve them. I purchased a smoker awhile ago and enjoyed sharing the cook with him. Smoked ham was his favorite with pit beef coming in a close second.
