We are sad to announce that on April 1, 2025, at the age of 88, Fern June Fickes of York, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Fern June had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Fern June may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Thomas Bell Fickes; and her parents, Alvin C. Ilgenfritz and Pauline Ilgenfritz (Ely). She is survived by: her children, Sheree L. Coates of Manchester, PA, Jack C. Fickes (Josephine) of Florida and James T. Fickes (Deb) of Red Lion, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Etzweiler - Koller Funeral Home (2000 W Market St, York, PA 17404). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Koller Funeral Home and Cremation Service (2000 W Market St, York, PA 17404).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Word Community Church, 2530 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, PA 17356.
