He is survived by: his parents, Milton Baxter and Dorothy McPherson; his wife La'Mesha L. Baxter (Sexton); his children, Denym Baxter, Emery Baxter, Sierrah Sexton and Hydia Jackson; and his siblings, Jason Howe (Brandon Howe), Melvin Carter, Taj McPherson and Parron Baxter (Brian Boanes).

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dontay's memory may be made to La'Mesha L. Baxter.
