He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Knecht and Josephine McGann Knecht; and his sibling James Knecht. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Gniewek Knecht; his children, Matthew Knecht, Jennifer Bartolett and Janet Knecht; his brother Joseph Knecht; and his grandchildren, Juliana Bartolett, Emily and Ian Knecht. He is also survived by three nieces and two nephews.
