It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Francis Northrup (Yardley, Pennsylvania), born in Mount Vernon, New York, who passed away on May 1, 2020, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Frank Northrup; his former wife Virginia Hart Northrup; his son David L. Northrup of Morrisville, PA; his sister Jean Northrup Merrill of Tempe, AZ; his stepsons, William Speakman of Bristol, PA and Donald Speakman of Grayson, MD.; his mother Ella Roth Northrup; his grandmother Henrietta M. Roth; his wife Agnes; his stepdaughters, Kay Van Orden Forbragh of Amherst, NY, Roselyn Van Orden Doverspike (Charles) of Round Rock, TX and Marilyn Van Orden Watson (Kelley) of Yardley, PA; his former wife Gladys Speakman Northrup; his stepchildren, Trisha Speakman and Thomas Speakman (Sue) of Still Pond, MD; his stepgrandchildren, Tommy and Patty Ann; his stepdaughter Suzanne Speakman Murray (Neal) of Hilton Head, SC; his stepgrandsons, Daniel, Michael and Sean; his daughter Kathie Northrup Platt; his son-in-law Michael Kelley Platt of Beaumont, Texas; his granddaughters, Emily Clare Platt (Chris Priebe) of Houston, TX and Laura Katherine Platt of Astoria, NY; his daughter-in-law Chrissy Girman Northrup; his grandsons, Devon and Jake Northrup of Morrisville, PA; his nieces and nephews, Gerry Merrill (Sandy) of Tempe, AZ, John Merrill of Boston, MA, Cheryl Hart Wyatt (Lindsey) of Cove City, NC, Susan Hart Hefty (Harry) of Watsontown, PA and Daniel Hart (Jean) of Riverside, NJ; and also Ashley Watson Donlon. He was also cherished by numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In May 2014 Robert married his third wife, Agnes "Sue" Van Orden, also a resident of Attleboro in Langhorne, and they shared almost six years together before his unexpected death due to COVID19.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to the Alzheimers Association.
