Gerard Cattie wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Kevin, Marianne, and Maureen: I just learned minutes ago of the passing of both your mother and father in recent months. I write this note with deep sadness, respect, and my heartfelt condolences. Your parents opened their home to me as a child with such warmth and generosity that I felt part of your family. They were extraordinary people who I loved and admired, and to this day think of with great fondness. Sincerely, Gerard Cattie”
