He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hammer and Anna Hammer; his wife Ann Marie Hammer; and his brothers, Thomas and Norman (Lois Walter Hammer).

He is survived by: his sister-in-law Marie Bonanno (Merry Wrye Hammer). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Alfred's name may be made to: The Saint Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
