He was predeceased by: his parents, Clement Mackiewicz and Felicia Thelma Olshefski Mackiewicz; his wife Frances Whrel of Swoyersville, PA; his sister-in-law Caroline Wrhel Petriga of Larksville, PA; and his nephew R. J. Mackiewicz of New York.
He is survived by: his son Joseph A.; his daughter-in-law Bonnie; his grandchildren, Chelsea Lynn and Joseph Michael Mackiewicz Wilkes; and his brothers, Richard (Irene) and Ronald (Patricia). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
