He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Marks and Thelma Marks; his sisters, June Reiber and Gloria Paules; and his pet Jakey.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Marks (Behrensen); his children, Amy Marks, Justine Messinger and John Marks, Jr.; his stepdaughters, Angie Saylor (Terry) and Tammy Behrensen; and his brother Luther Marks. He is also survived by eight step-grandchildren and four step-greatgrandchildren.
