He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles S. Deitz Sr. and Pearl E. Deitz (Hinkle); his siblings, Robert A. Poff Jr. and Patricia L. Good; and his son Joseph W. Deitz (Joey).
He is survived by: his wife Sheila M. Deitz (Baker); his sons, Robert (Nicole) and Chris (Sara); his grandchildren, Ian (Nadia), Makaila (Beau), Haiden, Adisyn, Brittany (Hope), Alyssa (Clay), Steven, Christoffer, Darrin and Courtney (Tim); and his great grandchildren, Noah, Keira, Abby, Axel and Vera.
