He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Schaeffer and Mary Schaeffer (Miller). He is survived by: his wife Marie E. Schaeffer (Boger); his uncle Wilson Miller; his children, Faye M. Heckman (Schaeffer), Allen R. Schaeffer (Tracy) and Perry Twp; his grandchildren, Veronica, Brayden, Carisa and Otto; and his brother Harold Schaeffer (Betty).
