It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Steven J. Claar of Windber, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 6, 2024, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Alden H. Claar; his granddaughter Mariah Jade Terrell; and his sisters-in-law, Jodi Kusch and Nancy Claar. He is survived by: his mother Helen E. Claar (Smihal); his close friend Debra L. Shaffer; his daughter Heather Payne (Michael); his grandchildren, Savannah Harbaugh, Christian Harbaugh, Landon Payne, Sutton Payne, Austin Payne and Hayden Payne; and his brothers, Alden A. Claar, Larry D. Claar and Daniel M. Claar. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home (1312 Graham Ave, Windber, PA 15963). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church (604 Graham Ave, Windber, PA 15963).
