He is survived by: his wife Barbara Lucas (Allison); his children, Melvin Jr., Shawn, Korina (Todd) and Jeffrey; his grandchildren, Nicole (Brian), Bethanie (Amanda), Brett (Kayla), Megan, Kaitlyn (Anthony), Ashlynn and Cameron; his siblings, John Jr. (Anita), James (Deborah), Thomas, Violet and Patricia; and his sister-in-law Sharon. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
