He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph John Richards Sr. and Elizabeth (Nibert); his wife Mary A. Richards (Swerock); his pet Suzy; and his siblings, Betty Charney, Jerry and Ernest Richards.
He is survived by: his son Joseph John Richards III; his grandsons, Joseph John Richards IV (Amanda), Christopher Richards (Lauren) and Jonathan Richards (Deidre); and his brother Frank Richards. He is also survived by great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Somerset County in his memory.
