He was predeceased by: his father Carmine Battiste; his wife Millie; his son John; his siblings, Rose Battiste, Angeline Blaschak (Frankie), Alfred and Nick Battiste; and his brother-in-law Robert Solgan.

He is survived by: his daughters, Louise Thompson of Canton and Bernadette Kraynick (Mike Bagley) of Canton; his grandchildren, Stephanie Blough (Marc) and John Thompson (Carrie); and his great grandchildren, Lillian Grace, Milana Marcelline "Millie" Thompson, Evan and Adam Spurrell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
